East Central Colorado Region Selects Community Energy Coordinator

Hugo, Colo.—
The East Central Colorado Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) recently hired Jillian Ball as the East Central Colorado Community Energy Coordinator.  Ball is a native of Kit Carson, graduating from Kit Carson High School. She is a 2010 graduate of Western State College in Gunnison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. "My education has allowed me to become well versed in environmental issues including a growing knowledge of renewable energies and an awareness of new technologies and solutions that are working towards sustainability. In both the Kit Carson and the Gunnison areas I was active in the community and I plan on continuing my active involvement in the East Central region as the Community Energy Coordinator," said Ball. "My interests include developing local renewable energy resources, working with people in rural areas, and building sustainable communities. As the CEC, I will be the ambassador from the Governor’s Energy Office, sharing the latest information about energy efficiency and GEO initiatives. I will also be listening to suggestions for opportunities related to sustainable development." Ball is organizing community meetings for each county to gather public input and to determine the needs and interests of community leaders and citizens in the East Central region. Ball can be reached at (719) 743-2542 or by email at jill.ball12@gmail.com.
